Gerishna: The Governor-General of Fars, Seyed Mohammad Ahmadi, had three meetings with the people of Arad, Fedagh, and Gerash in his first official visit of Gerash County on April 24th. He was accompanied in these meetings by Jafarpour, the MP; Foroudi, the Governor of Gerash; Hosseini, the Friday Prayer Imam of Gerash; and the members of Gerash City Council.
The Governor-General arrived in Gerash at 9 p.m. last night, and went straight to Vali-Asr mosque. His comment on the most important issue of the region, “the territory between Gerash and Lar”, was not unexpected. He said: “Border and territorial disagreements are solvable. I am the voice of the State here, and I can’t promise anything. We shouldn’t keep people looking forward to something that cannot be done tomorrow.”
Foroudi, the Governor of Gerash, said in his speech that no less than 70 requests have been made on behalf of the people of Gerash, and the most immediate ones are completing the road between Gerash and Lar, completing the construction of the administrative complex, and encouraging the banks to invest in the county.
Ali Asghar Hassani, the head of the City Council, had the longest speech. He reiterated with greater force the people’s hope for the settlement of the territory issue. He also mentioned other important requests: the construction of the Tang-e Badami tunnel, and the political upraising of Arad and Fedagh, the two large villages in Gerash County.
Yesterday afternoon, the Governor-General visited Arad and Fedagh, and talked face-to-face to the people and representatives of these villages. He is going to be attending the administrative council of Gerash in the Governor’s Office this afternoon.
