۷Berkeh: A year after the opening of Alzahra Infertility Treatment Center of Gerash, the first baby is born by IVF process in Amir-al-Momenin Hospital on March 5th, ۲۰۱۸. “This was the first result of IVF process, and many more mothers who are under treatment in our center have had positive pregnancy tests, too,” says Dr. Mehdi Mohsenzadeh, the head of this center, with a hopeful tone.
IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is a process in which the egg is combined with the sperm outside the body (in Vitro) and when the embryo is formed, it is transferred into the mother’s uterus. Dr. Younesi, the gynecologist in Gerash Hospital, has performed the procedures of extracting the egg, transferring the embryo, and 9 months later, delivering the baby girl in Gerash Hospital. Dr. E’tebary and Dr. Yari, embryology specialists in Alzahra Infertility Treatment Center of Gerash, have been in charge of doing the laboratory jobs.
Dr. Mohsenzzadeh mentions that since the inauguration of the Center in Gerash, a number of babies have been born through other treatment processes such as IUA, but this was the first time that the most prominent process of infertility treatment, IVF, has had the positive result.
