Gerishna: The Society of Writers and Poets of Gerash celebrate their 17th year of constant activity.
The 28th general assembly of the Society was held last week, and a group of five people were elected to further the activities of the Society in the remaining 6 months of the year.
“There will be major changes in the way the Society functions and communicates in the new period,” says Mohammad Khajehpour, the new head of the Society, “and the most important change is in the format and distribution of Aleph, the literary newsletter of the Society. We are going to turn it into a weekly Literary Special with a wider range of influence.”
The 800th session of The Society will also, once again like every other year, be an occasion for a celebration. Coinciding with the “Literature and Poetry National Day”, they have decided to turn the event into a jubilant festival by inviting three great satirists from Tehran, Shiraz and Bandar-Abbas: Mohammad Javid, Mohammad Avazi and Rashed Ansari (Khaloo). The festival is called “A Fresh Smile to Poetry” and will be held in “Aftab Taban Culture House” at 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 18th.
