۷Berkeh: Gerash was recognized as the fastest county in Iran to vaccinate the people above 18 years of age against Covid-19 in the rural areas. Gerash is also ranked fourth in the country in the vaccination of people above 40 years of age.
According to a report by Gerash University of Medical Sciences, the people in the rural areas of Gerash county have received the highest percentage of Covid-19 vaccines in the country. “Since vaccination began, we’ve done our best not to let the vaccination centers be closed under any circumstances,” said Alireza Massah, the vice-dean of health, “if the process of receiving the vaccines goes faster, we’re surely able to rank highest in the vaccination of the lower age groups in the cities, too.”
The vaccination of people against the Corona virus in the urban and rural areas of Gerash has begun a few months ago alongside the rest of the country. In the last few weeks, the age group above 40 years of age are being vaccinated. Currently, Sinopharm and COVIran Barekat are the two dominant types of vaccines available in Gerash.
All in all, a review of statistics by 7Berkeh reveals that only 10 percent of the people in the city of Gerash have received both doses of the vaccine, which shows a great gap from the vaccination rate in the rural areas.
