Gerishna: With the Health Reform Plan coming into effect in Amir-al-Momenin Hospital of Gerash, more and more mothers prefer to deliver their babies naturally rather than with cesarean section. In this plan, natural delivery is free in hospitals, while volunteer cesarean sections can be a financial burden on the families.
According to the public relations of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Care Services of Gerash, up to the month of April, the ratio of natural delivery to C-section was 38 to 63; but a major shift in the ratio took place in the first days of May, when the ratio changed to 56 to 44. In the last days of May, the percentage of natural deliveries in Gerash hospital rose even higher, to 65 percent.
Health Reform Plan came into effect in the beginning of May, with three objectives: reducing the expenses of the families, propagating natural deliveries and enhancing the quality of hosting in hospitals.
