Every modern society has a way of supporting its members suffering from rare diseases as an important parameter in assessing its health development. There are a lot of specialized and non-specialized organizations whose mission is to help and support patients suffering from hemophilia, different kinds of cancer, epilepsy, Dialysis, MS, etc. One such organization is going to be established in Gerash, by the name of “Special Patients’ Support Community (SPSC)”.
On May 5th, the office of the City Council received a number of local authorities and heads of departments to discuss the necessity and strategies for establishing this Community. Dr. Fathi, the head of the City Council, inaugurated the session with his speech. Then, Mr. Abbaspour presented the audience with the history and activities of these kinds of organizations, and reported the arrangements made and to be made for establishing the Support Community in Gerash. Others, too, spoke positively on the subject. Dr. Mohaqeq, manager of Imam Ali Hospital, promised a place for the Community in the Health Department. Mr. Mohsenzade, Head of the Faculty of Medicine, insured that this faculty will cooperate with the Community in the laboratory researches and educational projects. Mr. Mohseni and Ms. Khoshabizade, respectively from the Red Crescent Society of Gerash and the Welfare (Behzisti) Department, declared that their organs will certainly try to take these patients under their wings. At the end, a Founding Board was elected for following up the procedures.
