Gerishna: A quadruplet, two boys and two girls, were born to an Afghan family in Amir-al-Momenin Hospital of Gerash on Friday, May 2nd. The family now has 9 children.
The children, each one of them weighing between 700 to 800 grams, were taken to NICU since their general condition is not well and need special attention. The mother, Ameneh Mohammadi, who underwent a cesarean section, is reported to be in good health.
The father, Mohammad Saeed Azimi, is an Afghan refugee who came to Iran about 30 years ago. After living in different parts of Iran, such as Sistan and Baluchestan for some years, he and his family settled in Sedeh, a small village in Khonj County, nearly 14 years ago, where he is a kind of soothsayer or an occulist. Being the father of 9 chidren and financially weak, he says he is in dire need for help in bringing up these children.
